For the latest episode of Complex’s Sneaker Shopping, the show brought out none other than Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee and Senator Kamala Harris. The surprisingly fashion-forward Senator talked about her early days as a stylish Howard University student. While sneakers are the focus of the cultural zeitgeist now, Harris discussed her days of study and protesting while rocking the timeless Chuck Taylors.
The two spend a decent amount of time in the episode discussing Harris and her presidential running mate Joe Biden’s economic plans for the small and minority-owned businesses. With the episode hosted in black-owned sneaker shop Social Status, the two discuss the success of founder James Whitner as an example of what can be done when small businesses are supported economically.
