(Update) Early Look: Unreleased Tom Sachs NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.5

(UPDATE December 4th, 2020): Tom Sachs and his studio assistants have been pictured online wearing an updated version of the NikeCraft Mars Yard. This iteration features a smaller rubber toecap, the same upper, and the addition of an outsole akin to the new Nike ACG Mountain Fly. See more images and a mockup below.

Bill Powers, the renowned art dealer, and owner of the New York-based art gallery Half Gallery took to Instagram earlier today to tease an unreleased pair of Tom Sachs’ Mars Yard shoes. Sachs recently exhibited his own art at the currently socially-distanced art gallery, logically putting Powers in the category of Friends & Family when it comes to getting seeded sneakers. The Tom Sachs NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.5 (as its caption states) appears to don the same general look as 2017’s Mars Yard 2.0 with the addition of a black, rubberized toe cap and outsole.

While Powers’ caption states “NFS” (Not For Sale), time will only tell if these will eventually release to the public or if it will strictly be an F&F release.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!
