Foot Locker has announced its latest collaborations with Diadora and PUMA for Autism Acceptance Month with an adaptive sneaker collection.
To raise awareness and funds for autism, Foot Locker taps Diadora designer Sarath Ton and actor Ron Funchess for an inspiring collection that shows us that there’s more to sneakers than just materials and color combinations.
Additionally, Foot Locker partnered with autism advocate and actor Ron Funches for an adaptive PUMA Clyde that honors Ron’s son and features adaptive laces to ensure that everyone regardless of ability, can enjoy a pair. The lime green sneaker, Ron’s son’s favorite color, features a touching antidote on the backheel — noise-canceling headphones, a reminder of his son. Foot Locker and PUMA will donate $10,000 to the Flutie Foundation in support of the autism community.
“Foot Locker, Inc. is continuously evolving to better serve and be inclusive of all communities,” says John Hochadel, VP Commercial Concepts at Foot Locker, Inc. North America. “These collaborations are particularly close to our hearts because they support the mission of one of our employee resource groups, Laced Differently – which aims to create visibility, raise awareness and strive to empower persons with disabilities. We look forward to expanding our collaborations in the future and continue to invest in Laced Differently to empower people of all abilities to express themselves through the love of sneakers.”
The Sarath x Diadora N9002 “Autism Awareness” is available online now, and the Ron x PUMA Clyde “Autism Awareness” releases at a later date.
