Gary Payton Talks Signature Shoes

Over the weekend, during Miami’s Art Basel, we got the opportunity to link up with the legendary NBA player and sneaker icon Gary Payton. The nine-time All-Star was at a Michelob Ultra event to celebrate the release of their NBA-themed cans, so we took some time to get the sneaker legend’s opinion on some of today’s hottest basketball signatures.

We showed him several kicks, including the LeBron 20, the Nike PG 6, the Jordan Luka 1, the Nike Zoom Freak 4, and of course, the Nike Zoom Flight “The Glove.” GP gave his take on the shoes stating that the LeBron 20 was “fire” and “one of his best shoes ever,” ever the comedian, the Glove chose his own sneaker as the best of the bunch, all while adding in a bit of trash talk saying that he would “lock PG up” on the court.
