Important Tips about Sole Savy Slack
Before you head into our slack, please keep the following in mind:
- Slack on mobile can be a steeper learning curve than on desktop. If you are using slack for the first time ever please try it on your computer, it will be easier to get familiar with how it works that way.
- Slack is broken down into “Channels” and each channel is created for a specific topic. Please keep your discussions organized and posted in the correct channel. Not sure where it goes? Post in the #general channel or #random.
- The most important updates will be posted in the channel #announcements. Make a habit to check this channel anytime you open Slack to ensure you are caught up!
- DO NOT comment in the channel #announcements at any time. This is for admins only. You may respond to an admin’s comment by starting a thread (information is above). Any comments not made in threads will be deleted without notice.
- Members may comment in the channels #links, #raffles, #sales, #stock, #upcomingreleases if creating constructive discussions or asking questions. You MUST use “Threads” when responding to other people. Any comments/responses to a topic not made in threads will be deleted without notice.
- When chatting in any channel, please use the thread option every-time in an effort to keep the channels clean and easy for members who are behind to catch up.
- The channels #general and #random are much more relaxed, threads are not required but it is highly encouraged. We will not moderate these channels as actively as we do the rest.
- You may “leave” a Slack channel at anytime if you are not interested in the subject matter (#WDYWT for example). Follow this article for information on how to leave a slack channel.
What to do Once You Join Sole Savy Slack
Please do the following once you have joined our Slack:
- Turn on notifications for the channels #announcements
- If you would also like to get notifications for other channels of interest, please do that as well. We recommend having notifications on for #links
- Make sure notifications are off for the channels #general, #random. #wdywt and anything else that may not be relevant to you
