Rapper IDK is taking his talents and industry insights to Harvard next week. The 10-day course at the prestigious university, which local youth will be invited to attend free, will dive into how to make it as an independent artist, structuring a record deal, and much more.
“A lot of people don’t understand the rules, that’s why you get artists tweeting, ‘My label sucks, I hate my label, my label’s messing up my album,’” he explains. “But that’s not really the artists’ fault, in my opinion, it’s the labels’ fault for not educating artists that they sign. Expecting someone to come off the street, some of them just out of high school, to know how to operate is really unfair,” IDK told British Vogue.
In addition to the course, IDK has teased a collaborative Nike Blazer and will be hosting a live SNKRS conversation on June 15. From a glance, the all-white upper is paired with a Harvard crimson on the Swoosh, collar, and lining. A vibrant green is featured on the outsole of the shoe for a different take on the classic.
Stay tuned to SoleSavy as we wait and see the official release details of the Blazer.
