The relationship between Yeezy and Adidas has been a rollercoaster that went from the highs of one of the most successful partnerships ever to the lows of Ye publicly calling out members of the brand’s board. Now it looks like things are looking up for Adidas, at least when it comes to their revenue from Yeezy products. The Financial Times reports that the German sportswear company made $560 million from May’s Yeezy restock. In a statement made before the restock, Adidas Bjørn Gulden stated that this would be an effort to sell remaining Yeezy stock and that a significant amount of the proceeds would go to organizations working to combat discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.
The decision to release the product came after a turbulent 2022 when Adidas and Yeezy parted ways, leaving a billion-dollar-sized hole in the brand’s projected sales. In addition to the restock, Sneaker News has reported that Footlocker will begin selling Yeezy products again soon. Footlocker famously spoke out against Ye and removed Yeezy products from its store in 2022.
