When New Balance first released the OMNI1S, the brand’s first basketball sneaker, it was marketed mainly through a partnership with Kawhi Leonard who was then the star player for the 2019 NBA Champions the Toronto Raptors. For their latest foray in the realm of basketball, the brand has partnered up with Oklahoma City Thunder forward Darius Bizley to promote the New Balance OMNI1S Lows.
The OMNI1S Lows are the brand’s first low-top basketball sneakers and combine the OG’s technical specifications such as a FitWeave upper, Ultra Heel lock-in for extra stability, and FuelCell foam midsole but in a compact packaging. The debut colorway of the shoe, dubbed “Berry Lime”, sees bright hits of neon across the New Balance branded band across the upper as well as on the semi-translucent outsole. The front half of the FuelCell midsole is done in Fushcia Pink and matches the shoe’s upper, while the back half of the midsole is done in a simple, understated white. The tongue, laces, and lacestay are done in black, as are the faint diamond-patterning found throughout the toebox.
The OMNIS Lows and matching apparel release July 30th on NewBalance.com alongside a matching set of “Berry Lime” New Balance 850s and 997s, just in time for the NBA’s return on the same day.
