The Air Jordan 9‘s history is a unique one in MJ’s iconic sneaker lineage. It was released in the season following his first shocking retirement and even followed him to the baseball diamond. When he returned to the game, the AJ10 was already made, so the 9 didn’t receive as much love on the court as the rest of the models that came out during his career. That doesn’t mean MJ never wore them, though. Several times, he was spotted in the non-cleat version, including a famous photoshoot with Foot Locker and Champs, where he wore the “Powder Blue” colorway to match the University of North Carolina uniform he was promoting. The “Powder Blue” AJ9 is one of the three original colorways and is back for the first time since 2010.
The Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue” is now available at Nike.com.
