With skateboarding in mind, Nigo’s KENZO-DOME provides function and style, coming in several colors while boasting a thick rubber cup sole inspired by the 90’s skating scene. It has a puffed collar and tongue to address comfort, rubber KENZO branding on the tongue and heel, and is dressed in suede and grained leather for flexibility and toughness, depending on the chosen color. The name honors the Parisian skatepark, the DOME, in Palais de Tokyo.
If you want a suede upper, you can choose between the beige, pink, and black options. KENZO offers an all-white-grained leather version if you’re looking for the luxury look we’ve come to expect from the brand.
Nigo will also work with Nike on an upcoming silhouette that could release as early as 2024. For those unaware, Nigo is the founder of A Bathing Ape and Human Made, but he departed the former in 2013 after spending 20 years with the brand. KENZO and Nigo announced that a second drop in the KENZO by Nigo line will come later this year.
The KENZO-DOME is available right now at kenzo.com and in-store for $350. Keep your eyes out for more on Nigo’s second silhouette under KENZO.
