The original Nike GT Cut was one of the preeminent on-the-court sneakers of the NBA last year gracing a multitude of stars including Ja Morant. The low-cut sneaker was evocative of the Kobe line and had a traction pattern for the cutting guards.
The follow-up to the popular hoop shoe the Nike Air Zoom GT Cut 2 is set to improve on the original in every way. The initial offering of the upcoming sneaker comes in a “Bred” colorway with a patterned upper reminiscent of television static. The sequel adds new features like a newly added molded heel cup for support and a full-length Air Zoom Strobel.
The GT Cut 2 features an improved traction pattern with grooves that snap into place to help players make sharper cuts on the court. A carved-out section on the medial portion of the midsole reduces the weight of the shoe. The Cut logo appears on the tongue to complete the look. The Nike Air Zoom GT Cut 2 “Bred” releases on September 16 for Nike members and on a wider release on September 20 via Nike and select retailers. The retail price is set at $170.
