In celebration of “SNKRS Day” on August 8, Nike is releasing a duo of special edition Air Max 1s to mark the occasion. Inspired by the very same app that has brought many of us so much joy and even more disappointment depending on your track record of success on the release date.
The Air Max 1 “SNKRS Day” comes in two colorways, one which uses traditional leather and the other replete with translucent synthetic materials. The prior is made up of various shades of tanned brown leather, with lighter tones on the lacestays and perforated toebox, slightly darker brown for the overlays, and the deepest shade saved for the Swooshes and bottom heel cup. Stamped on the heel of both pairs is “8 8 20” in reference to SNKRS Day. For the footbed, you’ll find “Got ’em!”, “SNKRS” and a mini Swoosh embroidered onto the insole. The second colorway using translucent white synthetic materials on the heel, toebox, and most overlays. Light grey leather appears on the bottom portion of the heel cup, the mudguard, and Swooshes. Expect both pairs to drop on the titular holiday this August 8th, 2020.
