Nike, Inc. to Create Nike Virtual Studios Division in LA and NYC

Nike has more plans for the next frontier of the digital age.

Following key announcements such as the acquisition of RTFKT and the NIKELAND integration in Roblox, the brand has more on the way.

In a company-wide email obtained by SoleSavy, Nike has internally announced the creation of the Nike Virtual Studios division. The brand is “focusing on how we can extend our other Nike, Inc. brands into the virtual world to connect and inspire all of our communities,” per the leaked email.

The goal of Nike Virtual Studios doubles down on the brand’s focus of creating next-level products and experiences within Web3, the Metaverse, and blockchain.

According to the email, the Nike Virtual Studios division will be housed in Los Angeles and New York. RTFKT ‘s team will join the studio as well. The email includes Nike’s plans to “build a focused team dedicated to building Nike, Inc.’s virtual products and experiences.” In addition to the announcement of the division, Nike CEO John Donahoe named Ron Faris, current VP of SNKRS, as the leader of the new division.

A date for the all-new division has not been disclosed as of yet.
