Following the fervor of last month’s Mamba Week releases, yet another one of the late Kobe Bryant’s signature shoes is set to release later this month in an all-new colorway. Previously a Player Exclusive for the Houston Rockets’ P.J. Tucker, the sneaker aficionado of the NBA has been very vocal about his excitement for the release and even shared some behind the scenes images of the design process. Regarding the collaboration, Tucker told Complex: “It’s my true dream. I’ve never wanted my own shoe, but to be able to have my own version on my favorite basketball shoes of all time—it’s unthinkable. Mamba Mentality Forever.” Featuring an array of colors around a glossy “Particle Grey” upper, this Tucker’s Protro 5 has hits of bright red, blue, purple, and volt green throughout. The grey overlays don a subtle leopard skin patterning throughout while Nike Swooshes and Kobe’s logo on the tongue continue his legacy. Official images to come at a later date.
The public release of the P.J. Kobe 5 Protro PE “Particle Grey” will be September 25th and will retail for $180 USD.
