Raekwon is teaming up with Diadora and Foot Locker once more as a part of the “Community Linx” program that started in early January. Dedicated to helping the next generation of artists & creatives in the industry, the program provides rising local music talent with the tools, resources, and knowledge needed to elevate their game.
Following the previous New York-inspired colorways, the Raekwon x Diadora x Foot Locker N9002 heads to the City of Brotherly Love. The upcoming Raekwon x Diadora x Foot Locker N9002 “Philly” is built with a maroon, black, and grey look inspired by the city. Reflective hits & The Chef’s signature are found on the pair as well.
In tandem with the release of the Philly colorway, 20 up-and-coming musicians from Philadelphia received invitations to a Zoom seminar hosted by Mina Say What, which featured a conversation with Raekwon in which he spoke about different topics centered around his creative process in turning a 16-bar verse into a storytelling track. The musicians will have an in-person opportunity to perform in front of special guest judges, including Raekwon. Participants will be performing in a total of four rounds, and the winner will receive one-on-one time with Raekwon following the event.
“This is an empowering program and allows young artists to be embraced by some of the legends,” Raekwon. said “Shoutout Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Diadora for helping bring my vision to life. We’re now in Philly with it on the heels of a successful NYC launch, and I’m excited to see what the city offers. There’s so much talent here, and we want to give people the opportunity to build and grow for the culture.”
The Raekwon x Diadora x Foot Locker N9002 “Philly” releases on April 21 for $120 in men’s sizes, exclusively at Foot Locker and Champs Sports. Additionally, pairs will be made available in Philadelphia, at Foot Locker Philly’s Park West Community Store, located at 1575 N 52nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19131. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
