Release Recap: Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne”

Yesterday’s release was fairly typical for current sneaker drops that are seeing delays and stores focusing on in-store first and then pivoting online after. While the WTT 9s were expected to release in early December, Nike shifted the release into the new year to allow inventory to show up for as many stores as possible.

The first store to kick off the releases was Oneness, which released at 7:27PM EST on Wednesday, the day before releases were meant to begin. This drop was announced by the store and as of writing has a few small sizes available.

There were 7 confirmed releases from 8 AM to 11 AM EST that were announced ahead of the morning. This includes SNKRS, Xhibition, Rule of Next, UNDFTD, Bodega and finally KITH; which did not announce the release until 10AM EST. From 11 AM EST onwards, we saw 12 more releases online.

Most top tier boutiques such as KITH and UNDFTD carried 100-120 pairs online, second tier locations carried 50-70 pairs and smaller account holders had a dozen or so pairs show up online. For the most part, the releases continued all day with 17 total online releases, giving users a great chance to pick pairs up throughout the day if you were monitoring for releases with drop alerts. As of Friday afternoon, three additional releases have occurred bringing it to 21 total drops online and we expect this to continue through the weekend.

Resale prices as of today have been 20% to 40% above retail. While the shoe was in demand, it was a very attainable sell out release, if you have the right resources at your disposal. Links to check out your size directly and Assist for an expedited checkout were essentials in our members’ success on release day.

KITH underpriced the sneaker ($30 below retail), making it an ideal location with bot protection. Later in the day, multiple stores released with free shipping and no tax, bringing pairs in at a clean (but increased price) of $230 USD.

Below you can find time stamps for store releases and restocks as well as stock levels if we had access to them. Our expectation going forward is for this type of trend to continue.

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
