Releases of the Week: August 21st-27th

The sneaker industry is always fast-moving. Sometimes you have weeks where it seems like nothing major is dropping, and other times you have weeks like this upcoming one where there are major drops literally every single day.

It’s an exciting time to be a sneakerhead, as we talked about on the latest episode of the SoleSavy podcast.

Not only the number of releases but also the variety of brands.

No week encompasses the current state of sneakers moreso than this upcoming week, as we have 6 different collabs, 5 different brands, all in 3 days. Add in your weekly Jordan Brand release + a brand new colorway of the Kobe 8, and this week is probably one of the best this year.

Here’s whats dropping, along with a quick blurb to help set expectations for each drop. Remember to download the DROPS by SoleSavy app to keep up with everything when it comes to releases.

August 23rd

Nike Kobe 8 Protro ‘Halo’

  • This drop will be dominated by raffles, with many of them already open. There are more retailers carrying Nike Kobe basketball for this release, which is a good sign. Expect a release directly through the Mambacita Foundation website –  likely a shock drop.

August 24th

Union LA x Bephie’s Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 1 High

  • The biggest release of the week. Raffles have started already for the wider retailer release that’s coming next week. UNION will more than likely use a secret site, bot protection and will have the highest stock of any other options. The Elevate pair will likely sell out on UNION’s drop, but be an easy buy from everywhere else.

August 25th

Notre x Salomon XT-4

  • Salomon has gained a ton of steam in 2023 and these are a very wearable and moodboard-y colourway. Overall these will likely be hard to get; expect Notre to drop on their site FCFS with bot protection, and Salomon to drop through their webstore – which is a mess.

Social Status x Nike Mac Attack

  • The first release sold out but was very doable in most sizes when it dropped FCFS. Sizes above 11 were almost all raffled off ahead of launch. Expect a similar drop the the other TWG releases – secret site, bot protection, and probably a surprise restock once they cancel bot orders.

thisisneverthat x New Balance 550

  • The NB 550 wave is slowly dying down, but collabs seem to do well. As of now these are a TiNT exclusive, meaning they will likely sell through. However if these eventually see a wider release, they will be an easy grab.

Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Atmosphere Grey’

  • Air Jordan 1 Highs have slowed down, but we’ve seen consistent sell through on the OG cut Jordan 1 Low. A wearable colourway that will likely sell out in big sizes on release day.

August 26th

Air Jordan 4 W ‘Frozen Moments’

  • Air Jordan 4’s always do well. These are a women’s release with sizing only up to a 12W. Anything above a size 10W will be hard to get, and sizes above 8.5W and above will likely completely sell out on release day.

quotes

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
