While we await official images and release date from adidas, Sean Wotherspoon has taken to his personal Instagram to tease yet another image of his upcoming adidas Superstar ‘SUPER EARTH’ collab. We also have a high-quality mockup of the “SUPER EARTH” from House of Heat pictured above.
Purportedly made up of plant-based/vegan materials, due in large part to Wotherspoon’s advocacy for a plant-based lifestyle. The Superstar’s silhouette is the same as usual, with its iconic clamshell toebox intact, but there are pops of color and unique embroidery applied throughout the upper that we rarely ever see on an adidas sneaker. The threading of the embroidery is left purposely long and hangs off the lateral sides of the sneaker, resulting in a playful, distressed look akin to most of Wotherspoon’s vintage offerings. The ‘SUPER EARTH’ features an embroidered version of Wotherspoon’s cartoon sketches of the adidas trefoil logo as flowers, done in bright red, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The upper is a mix of powder blue and pastel pink lace stays atop and white vegan leather and features a cork insole. A co-branded adidas/SW “SUPER EARTH” insignia can be found on both the insole and the heel tab.
