Nike SB continues its long-standing tradition of thoughtful storytelling through collaborations on its Dunk silhouette. Nike’s skateboarding division is teaming up with non-profit organization Skate Like a Girl for its latest co-creation.
Skate Like a Gir is dedicated to helping, supporting, and empowering individuals, especially women and trans people, to create an inclusive community by promoting confidence, leadership, and social justice through skateboarding. The organization has three chapters along the west coast as Skate Like a Girl can be found in Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco.
Nike SB is teaming up with Skate Like a Girl for a commemorative Dunk Low that celebrates the organization’s mission and values, while also furthering its ethos of inclusivity through skateboarding.
The Skate Like a Girl x Nike SB Dunk Low is built with an off-white suede base and maroon suede overlays. Corduroy materials are utilized for the pair’s tongue, liner, and Swooshes that are dipper in a red hue. Skate Like a Girl’s hand-holding logo is found on the heel, while the brand’s lettering is placed on the tongue tags. A white midsole and gum outsole come together for a true skateboarding aesthetic.
A release date for the Skate Like a Girl x Nike SB Dunk Low has not been announced. However, we expect the pair to release on SNKRS and select Nike SB retailers in the upcoming months. As always, our sneaker monitors and release day strategy will have members ready for drop day.
