Slam Jam, New Balance Celebrate the 991’s 20th Anniversary

Slam Jam has become a staple beyond the Italian border as the Ferrara-based retailer’s influence has transcended. Since 1989, Slam Jam has curated some of the best pieces in streetwear and has become a collaborator with the biggest names in sneakers.

Slam Jam and New Balance rework the 991 as the silhouette celebrates its 20th anniversary. Slam Jam takes on the silhouette as Patta, and One Block Down already collaborated on the model within the last couple of months.

Sticking true to the New Balance ethos, premium materials and functionality are at the forefront of the pair. Slam Jam adds ripstop nylon to the pair. Dressed in Slam Jam’s signature dark hues, the Slam Jam x New Balance 991 could be the start of a collaboration heavy New Balance 991 run as we saw in 2020 with the New Balance 992.

The collab releases at Slam Jam and the Shap New Balance store on May 7 before its wider release on May 13. A collaborative track pant and anorak will also accompany the 991.
