Sneaker Release Recap September 4 – 10

author
Connor Eng

As the cooler weather moves in, cooler shoes make their way on to the streets as well. September kicked off with the long-awaited release of the Air Jordan 3 “Fire Red” with the Nike Air on the back making it the closest we’ve seen to the original release since the original itself. Supreme returned with two new colorways to add to its Nike SB Blazer collection from 2006 and French brand Jacquemus teamed up with Nike for the return of the classic Nike Air Humara. Check out all the releases and restocks from the week of September 4-10.

FCFS (first come, first serve) Release Shoutouts

  • Supreme Fall Winter 2022 Week 2: Main items for this drop were the Supreme x Nike SB Blazer Mid in the Denim and Black colorways. First items to sell out were the Jeff Hamilton Ridge Street Jacket and the Tru Grit 6kg Kettlebell. Whole drop went very smoothly through both the Supreme website and the Supreme app. Denim colorway of the Supreme Blazers sold out in just over 20 minutes while the black pair took 30 minutes to sell out
  • Nike Air Penny 1 ‘Photon Dust’: While stock was expected to be low a lot of stores received around 100-200 pairs. Still in stock at nearly every store that dropped (check the in-stock section!)
  • Nike x MMW 005 Slide: Dropped on https://www.alyxstudio.com/collections/nike-mmw-5-slide/products/mmw-5-slide-black-dh1258-002-m009646?variant=40129829634137 and will drop on Snkrs and other boutiques in the future. Otherwise straightforward cop and a lot of sizes are still in stock
  • Off-White Air Force 1 ‘Green Spark’: Sales page was loaded onto the Off-White website and a shock Snkrs Pass was posted to SNKRS. SNKRS Passes are location based drops that require you to be at a specific location to have access to the drop. For this drop you needed to be within Brooklyn to  participate and the shoes would need to be picked up from 21 Mercer with no shipping options available. SoleSavy members were given instructions on how to change their location on their mobile devices to participate in the drop even if they weren’t in the area. The Sales page on the Off-White website still has not gone live
  • Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Holy Grail’: Concepts first NFT gated release. Those who purchased the ‘Proof of CNCPTS’ NFT were able to participate in the drop by linking their crypto wallets. Drop was tough to navigate as the site had a hard time handling the traffic. Shoe’s were picked up by the SoleSavy monitors and sold out in 1557.22 seconds due to issues with checkout.
  • Nike Dunk Low ‘Olive’: Shoe Palace was the only retailer to drop on September 9th. Initially dropped with 519 pairs and then restocked 10 minutes later with 2000 pairs. Queue opened 7 minutes before the drop and queues were long. Both the initial drop and the restock sold out within the first minute they were released.
  • Nike x Jacquemus Air Humara Pack: Healthy level of stock across all the stores that dropped. Both shoes and apparel were released. The ‘Ale Brown and Gold’ colorway is still in stock at many stores while the ‘Light Bone and Gold’ colorway sold out at most stores that dropped.
  • Air Jordan 3 Retro ‘Fire Red’: Sneaker Room dropped a day early on September 9th at 3:57 PM EST and sold out in 193.23 seconds. Thanks to the Drop Alerts feature in the DROPS by SoleSavy app members were notified and given an expedited checkout the second the shoes were loaded. This was one of the best stocked drops of the year as many of the bigger stores like Shoe Palace, JD Sports, Finishline, Dicks, and Hibbett all drop well over a thousand pairs (JD Sports and Finishline having 4500 pairs alone) and even the smaller boutiques were stocked better than we normally see for Jordan Retro releases. Led to a very smooth experience with slower sell-out times as most stores still had sizes up to an hour after the drop. SoleSavy members were able to cop smoothly through the monitors and be notified about which stores offered the cheapest option to buy such as YCMC not charging tax and Nordstrom listing the shoes for 10$ less than other stores

quotes

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
