Originally from Burlington, Vermont, Brandom Seminario is a SoleSavy member from Northeast Pennsylvania. A proud part of our Slack 3 community, he joined SoleSavy in November 2020. He is married and a father of four girls, and owns a residential painting company. When he’s not busy with work or obsessing over sneakers, he enjoys spending quality time with his family over anything else.

Tell us how you got into sneakers

I got into sneakers when I was around middle school.  I remember always paying attention to what other people had on feet and I took mental notes of what I thought was cool. At that time, my parents were divorced and I lived with my Mom, I was one of four kids in my family so we usually got 1 pair of boots (Timberland work boots) for the winter and one or two pairs of sneakers throughout the year, but I didn’t have the luxury of picking out which sneakers they would be. However, my Dad would let me pick out my sneakers, and I remember dragging him to multiple sneaker stores before I would make my decision. Back then I wore Reebok, Saucony, Asics, and Nike occasionally.

How long have you been a member?

I joined SoleSavy in November 2021.

What sneaker do you cherish the most in my collection?

My most cherished sneaker is definitely my Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 “Desert Ore.”  I really loved this shoe and had my eye on it for quite some time. I just couldn’t justify paying such a high resale price on it. Two Christmases ago, my wife surprised me with a pair, so now whenever I see them or wear them, I think of her and how amazing she is and supportive of my love for sneakers.

What’s the best sneaker you’ve gotten through your SS membership?

I’ve gotten so many awesome pairs through SoleSavy, but I’d say my best cop is the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Heavy.” I was able to cop the “Heavy,” and “Far Out” colorways too, but the “Heavy” is just an incredible shoe. I love music and going to shows or festivals, so the story behind this shoe, and a tip of the hat to the original Woodstock, and Bethel Woods, is something I can relate to. I live about forty-five minutes from Bethel Woods, so I’ve been there for a few shows and events, it’s cool to now have a shoe that ties in history & music.

What’s your Grail?

My grail has changed a few times, at this time id say it’s the Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 “Black,” or Parra x Nike Air Max 1 x “Amsterdam.”

Is there a pair in your collection that always gets slept on?

I have a pair of Air Max 90 “Familia,” and I think they are totally slept on. I haven’t seen them in the wild, but I love my pair, they are incredibly comfortable and people will stop me and compliment the shoe all the time.

What’s one thing you’re passionate about outside of sneakers?

I’m a painter by trade, and I really love what I do. The saying “love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life” has really been true for me in a lot of ways. I enjoy working with different clients, I look forward to each project because it’s always going to be different than the previous ones. One of the biggest benefits is watching a client smile when I’ve been able to make their vision or idea a reality.

How does your sneaker collection reflect your personality?

My collection is versatile, I’m pretty open-minded and I’m always looking to push myself out of my comfort zone with my shoes, and my style. I also have an art appreciation, and to me shoes are art, they are an expression of both the creator and the person wearing the sneaker.

How do you decide which sneakers to add to your collection?

I try to choose sneakers that I know I will wear, that are somewhat different or funky, are affordable, and aren’t something that a lot of other people have.

What sneakers do you have for sale on COLLECT right now?

I have the Nike Air Max 1 “Pink Lemonade,” and “La Ville Lumiere” for sale on COLLECT right now. I have a few pairs for trade including Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Reverse Mocha,” and Bodega x Nike Dunk High “Legend.” All of them are DS! Check out  Brandon’s COLLECT profile for more.

Are there any shoes you’re hoping to trade for? What’s on your watch list on COLLECT?

I have not ever traded a shoe YET, but I’m hoping with COLLECT that will change soon! A few on my watch list are Nike Air Max 1 “London,” Air Max 1 “Susan,” ASICS Gel Lyte V “Mid Grey,” Bape x ASICS Gel Lyte V “Black Camo,” and Air Max 1 “Tinker Sketch to Shelf Black.”

What’s one thing you would change about sneakers in its current state?

I’d make all sneakers more accessible across the board, which in turn would cause the secondary market to shrink, if not disappear.

What sneaker brand are you most excited about right now?

ASICS! Im all in on the ASICS brand right now, they just don’t miss lately. I love the Gel Lyte 3s, and 5s, and I’m beginning to explore some other silhouettes like the MC Plus and Gel Nimbus 9. In the last year or, so I’ve picked up some collaborations they have done with Awake NY, Braindead, and Denim Tears,  and all of them have been gorgeous shoes. The other part of ASICS that I appreciate, is that for the most part, all of their shoes are easy cops. Unless it’s a Ronnie Fieg or CONCEPTS collab, their shoes are just waiting to be copped.  Looking ahead it looks like they will continue to drop some nice-looking sneakers.

quotes

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
