For many, the nation’s capital is known for politics, monuments and history. While policy and parties headline the District of Columbia on a mass media level, it’s the art community that provides the pulse.
This is known by The Museum DC, a boutique that believes there isn’t just an intersection between fashion and art, but rather lives by the mantra “Fashion is Art!”
Wearing their ethos on their feet, The Museum DC x FILA Tennis 88 carries their message through a cream colorway with white midsoles and grey gum bottoms. Celebrating luxury through fashion and the arts, the vintage tennis model makes the most of the classy collaboration, kept both fun and inspiring through cartoon imagery and statement text.
“We feel that artists are born, not created,” express LeGreg Harrison and Muhammad Hill, founders of The Museum DC. “Our goal was to celebrate the culture that thinks like no one else. Fashion and art are reflections of each other, mirroring the endless possibilities for creatives to express themselves. It is essentially a marriage. It is a never-ending love affair. This design represents the collaboration between these two creative cultures.”
Limited to only 500 pairs, The Museum DC x FILA Tennis 88 will be released on Saturday, July at 11 a.m. EST exclusively at The Museum DC.
