SoleSavy 2021 Recap: Our Favorite Moments

The curtain is rapidly closing on 2021 and with 2022 on the horizon, we wanted to take a look back at some of the amazing things that have happened to the SoleSavy Community over the year. So many great moments and absolutely none of them could have been possible without our passionate members. Cheers to a great year, here’s to an even better 2022.

Nike Go FlyEase

Accessibility in sneakers is a real problem. Look no further than the Nike Go FlyEase to see what we mean. This shoe was created to help individuals get in and out of sneakers without requiring the use of hands. An amazing opportunity for so many to be able to put their shoes on without assistance. Unfortunately, the revolutionary sneaker dropped in limited quantities, rendering the accessible-centered sneaker virtually inaccessible due to greed on aftermarket platforms.

As a company, we saw this problem and wanted to help. That’s why we rallied together to get the FlyEase into the hands of people that need it most. Best of all, we were able to give deserving members a chance to purchase the shoe at retail.

Assist & Drop Alerts

Everything we build is to benefit the SoleSavy community experience. In the interest of improving the sneaker buying experience for our members, we created Drop Alerts, which are integrated into the SoleSavy App, and Assist our Google Chrome Extension.

Drop Alerts are personalized push notifications with direct links to purchase sneakers and other items like apparel and collectibles. Assist significantly improves the speed of the checkout process when using Chrome. Together they help SoleSavy members get more wins on the sneaker they want.

SoleSavy is about much more than sneakers. Sneakers may be why our members sign up, but it isn’t why they stay. They stay for the camaraderie and sense of community. That camaraderie was on full display this summer, as the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Volt/University Gold’ became a symbol of hope amongst our community in honor of a member’s father that was battling Multiple Myeloma.

Member Events

2021 saw the cautious return of member-exclusive events, and let us tell you, we really missed being able to connect face-to-face with the SoleSavy community. Weekends in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, Toronto, and Portland were just a few of the highlights from our 2021 events calendar. Greatly looking forward to bringing the community together in 2022 with more events, including All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, OH.

Jordan Brand Community Showcase

Highlighting the stories and backgrounds of our community is one of the best things we get to do at SoleSavy. Our Community Showcase with Jordan Brand gave us the perfect opportunity to share some of our amazing members with a broader community within the Nike App. 100% of the compensation from this partnership was given back to our SoleSavy community in the form of giveaways.

Pasos Shoe Drive

This past August we partnered with the non-profit, Pasos for Oak Cliff for a two-day shoe drive, hosted by Centre and Magnolia Skateshop. The SoleSavy Community showed up and showed out for both drives and we were able to help Pasos collect over 440+ pairs of shoes for students in need in Dallas, TX, and neighboring areas.

SS2 Custom Bespoke Sneaker

It’s humbling to say that we now have two custom bespoke sneakers, with more on the way. Unveiled earlier this year, the SS2 was six months of hard work come to life. A work of art made from authentic materials, we couldn’t be prouder of this community-led project.

Top 3 Season One

Earlier this summer we debuted our new series, Top 3, on YouTube. Hosted by our own Tony Mui, the framework is simple. Participants show off three of their favorite sneakers. It can be straight heat or just something with a great story, they decide. The only rule, after you show a sneaker you must say with conviction…”TALK TO ME NICE!” Season one was a blast. With staff, community members, and NBA players bringing the heat. Word on the street is that season two might be around the corner.

quotes

Sole Savy is unreal! With a busy schedule it’s hard to keep up on shoes, and the group keeps me up to date on releases, tips on how to manually cop, and a marketplace with killer deals from fellow like minded collectors. It’s changed the sneaker game for me!

@SoleSavy is the truth. They've helped me cop kicks I never would've imagined getting at retail. Members always willing to assist on drops too. And most of all, a REAL community of REAL sneakerheads. These guys should be the gold standard for sneaker communities! #LifetimeMember

My membership paid for itself three fold by being solely responsible for my union 4’s, mesh sacai waffles, sacai blazers, court purple aj1s, glow in the dark yeezy 350s, travis scott lows (which I traded to get desert ore ow’s), air max 1 londons, bc3’s for way under retail etc.

Can't say enough about SS. The stellar help with copping shoes is a given but it's the community that makes it extra special. Hands down one of the best decisions I made as a wannabe sneakerhead.

The community of sneakerheads and resources available to help manually cop are great and really will help you get more Ws. The Zoom calls for hyped drops like Union Jordan 4 only adds to the camaraderie while providing real time instruction
